2016 can kiss my ass

It has been awhile since I posted any updates here. I could blame a plethora of things, but I will just say 2016 is an asshole. I plan on doing a hard reboot of what I have already written because I have grown and changed as a person and as a writer. My writing should reflect that. Also, things are problematic and just groan worthy. I can't believe I wrote it. Once I have brought things up to my higher standards of gutter writing, I can progress into a conclusion. My hopes are for at the very least a self publication by 2017. I'm actually setting timelines for myself. It works for other things, why not my writing. If you are actually reading this, thank you. I appreciate sticking around through ups and downs and horrible prose. May the new year be better than the one before, If not, may aliens come and take us away before it gets worse.

After months of blank page syndrome, I have finally completed Chapter 14. This puts me at about the half way mark to completing the book. So fingers crossed, that will be my Christmas present to myself. Please check out the first two chapters online and let me know what you think. I love to hear feedback. <3

Synopsis for "The Blood Paws":

A series of events tie a seasoned detective and a shy librarian spiraling them both into a world of myths and legends and bringing them face to face with long kept secrets.

A killer is on the loose, at least that is what the eccentric Medical Examiner claims when a supposed animal attack victim shows up in his morgue. With the police investigating the so-called murder, one detective is on a mission of his own. Jason Monroe is a risk tasking, no nonsense man with a bad temper and a dark secret. While Jason tries to find the killer of Natalie Marshall, who was a library grad student from the local university, the abrasive detective is forced to conceal vital evidence from his long term friend and partner, as well as the knowledge of what animal is capable of conscious murder.

Charlotte Doyle is a research librarian from the local university. Shy and reserved, she avoids dangerous situations at all costs, all in part to a traumatic event in her past. Her first risk in years occurs the night before the girl from her university is found murdered. In uncharacteristic fashion, Charlotte finds herself spending a spontaneous night with an alluring detective, Jason Monroe. Drawn together instantly at a local bar, their mutual attraction confuses both the polar opposite people. A one night stand that continues as the two's paths continue to cross during the course of the investigation into Natalie Marshall's death. Charlotte reluctantly researching an elusive group, "The Blood Paws", for a mysterious, young woman and Jason following leads to the same woman, shows that Charlotte is in grave danger. It soon becomes clear when her home is broken into and her brake lines cut, that Charlotte's research has possibly made her a target for the killer. Jason takes on the task of protecting the woman he has been drawn to from the moment he saw her and catching the killer at all costs. Can Jason discover the killer before Charlotte becomes next and keep the secret of his life from her as she digs into the history of "The Blood Paws"? A long kept secret the risks exposure the deeper she delves... Werewolves do exist.
